I grew up in Ridgefield and a few years before I moved Genoa opened. They made a fantastic sandwich and I really missed them. A group of us went to a UConn football game and got 2 giant godfathers and a giant leaning tower of piza. They brought me right back to the old days! The sandwiches are huge and they are made with bread that comes from Arthur ave in the Bronx. Today while in Danbury I drove the extra 1/2 hour out of the way to grab another one!!
Their Sicilian pizza and Eggplant Parmesan are incredible--try them, you won't be disappointed!!
Love Genoa! Great food- from their sandwiches to premade foods, it's just great. Staff is always friendly and quick too! They have great Mac and cheese and catering as well. Great for sports team catering.
Wow! Stopped in for a first time since moving here and only purchased & tried a little slice of Eggplant Parmesan. WOW!!!!! So good! Taking my lazy Friday night self back and getting more!
Best food hands down. I love the catering services they offer. I love that they offer different varieties of food. Place is always clean and very welcoming. They also have a wonderful and fast delivery service which we use often in winter days.
Pizza is fantastic. ALWAYS! One small thing to watch for: if you get the premade salads I've had a couple where the spring mix was old. Other than that I highly recommend.
The best pizza in Ridgefield. After trying every pizza place in town, this is the best...good, basic pizza like I grew up on in New Jersey. Not fancy, artisan, brick oven etc. just old fashioned cheesy, oily, Friday night / big game on tv pizza baked to perfection. Ask for crispy. So if you're not into cracker-thin crust, artisan-wood-fired bells and whistles pizza, nor chain - fake pizza (like Pizza Hut, papa johns, little Caesar, etc) which I despise...Genoa is your go-to pizza place in town. Avoid the subs, there are better options in town. But for pizza, Genoa is tops.
Excellent Italian Deli with a lot more than traditional deli sandwiches. Terrific Italian catering for parties and large gatherings. The owners are sincerely helpful and go out of their way to accommodate requests.
This is a very nice local place with lots of food options. I made my own sandwich of a chicken cutlet with lettuce, onion, mayonnaise and cheese. Everything is made fresh. The cheeseburger looked amazing and the bacon cheese fries were very delicious.
